A group of Scottish companies from the creative industries has been in Ontario to find out about the prospects for collaboration with businesses there. They’ve attended workshops and networking sessions, met trade bodies, government officials and a wide range of firms. The impression left has been that of a dynamic sector in the Toronto area where both the city and the Province have invested to support indigenous companies, both large and small.
On the last day of the trip, they travelled to Niagara to visit a specialist incubator unit where new creative businesses could be encouraged and supported. Afterwards, the Caledonian Mercury asked two of them about the benefits they thought they’d gained from the trip:
