Commenting on the Conservative manifesto launch, Liberal Democrat campaign chair George Lyon said:
"The Tories have let the cat out of the bag. Now Scottish students know that the price of a Scottish degree under the Conservatives would be £16,000.
“But we still don’t know how they’re going to pay for the first four years of their plans. This undermines their claims that their manifesto is honest and fully costed.
“Scottish Liberal Democrats want to keep higher education free in Scotland. But we also want to keep our services local.
“The Scottish Tories have a clear pledge to centralise our police force. That could take 3,000 police officers off our streets. Only the Liberal Democrats oppose these plans.”
