Election newsflash: Labour hold seat they were always going to hold

Labour have held Rutherglen. No surprise there then. But the SNP vote was up 16 per cent – a swing of 7.4 per cent from Labour. If that was replicated across Scotland, nobody has any idea what would happen thanks to the leveling effect of the "peach ballot". The Liberal Democrats trailed in fourth behind the Tories. They're in for a caning.
