Labour managers had to delay the online edition of their manifesto today to correct a mistake which caused great mirth when it was spotted at the party’s manifesto launch this morning.
On page 68 of the manifesto, there is a commitment to scrap “the failed Scottish Futures Trust”. Unfortunately, it didn’t say that when the manifesto appeared. Instead, it read: “Scottish Labour is committed to scrapping the failed Scottish Labour.”
What with a fire alarm forcing a temporary halt to the launch at Clydebank College and pushing everyone there out into the rain, Labour strategists could have been forgiven for humming that old Labour 1997 anthem: Things can only get better.
